storm breaks the morning sky
thunder cracks away at my faith
and dread makes it's home in my heart
wind and rain grind down again
the ocean has turn on us
pulling our resolve to pieces
in the calm before the storm
raging out across the sea
the swells to much for me to handle
i break your ship to splinters
hold strong now my lady please
fighting back will do no good
she is broke we are sinking
it's over now fall to me
can't hold out abandon ship
another falls to my will
fading fast my limbs gone numb
feeds the ocean deep
can't hold on my life is gone
as the waves pull me down
and i can hear no sound
as the tide pulls me to sea
my love remember...
I received this as a surprise present by the band for pre-ordering the upcoming album, so thanks a lot to you, too :-))
As could be expected by Pat Sanders & Co, highly melodic prog that should, for instance, appeal too friends of Fish-era Marillion (although Uncle Fish would never have reached those high notes ;-) ) and some instrumentals (from beautiful miniatures like Bubbles to the more epic Last Supper). Among many other fine things offered here, I especially love Pat's piano playing! Carsten Pieper
Streamlining their post-metal sprawl through a sharper melodic focus, the Scottish juggernauts' third LP is labyrinthine yet approachable. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 25, 2024
